Qualifications:
- An earned Master’s degree in education or field of study related special education.
- An ASD Endorsement
- Three years satisfactory teaching experience or successful experience in a field of study related to special education.
- Teacher consultant approval from the Department of Education or recommendation to the Department of Education by Superintendent or Designee.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of the educational team for students with ASD.
- Consult with principals, teachers, support staff, and ancillary staff regarding students with ASD.
- Keep a detailed log of activities and support provided to staff and parents.
- Assist in the coordination of educational programming both in district and out of district for students with ASD. Assist with visits to these programs.
- Provide services for students with ASD on TC caseload as per IEP.
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to assist in the
- Develop and implement training and ongoing staff development for both general
- Coordinate with outside resources, such as the Kent CAN, to serve students with ASD and their parents and teachers. (i.e. Peer-to-Peer program).
